⚜ Symbolism: Mars

god of war

The Mars Crest and Sigil are what power the Onion Knight in the Japanese and International versions. So I wanted to go on about the symbology associated with Mars.

Fire

"Fire is a yang character. It's motion is upwards and has expansive engery. It's also associated with Summer, South, Mars, color Red (associated with extreme luck), hot wheather, daylight and the Vermilion Bird." Fire is also associated with passion and destructive properties. Lulu stands firm on what she believes in and what she thinks. Even though she wears all black, she doesn't have a problem in Bikanel Desert. I wonder if her magic can help regulate her body in extreme conditions or if it's because she is associated with fire. Lulu does have luck, somes good and somes bad.

March

"March in the Northern Hemisphere, the meteorological beginning of spring occurs on the first day of March. The March equinox on the 20th or 21st marks the astronomical beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere." Spring represents new life and Lulu gives birth to a baby boy. Where Autumn is before Winter that signifies death. Lulu has already lost two people she cared for deeply. So for me April signifies the life and death cycles of her life.

Tuesday

Aggression and Achievement is what Tuesday stands for. Lulu is quite aggressive towards Wakka and Tidus (to a point). If she is mad she doesn't hide it often. Lulu is the type of woman who when mad enough with set someone on fire (at least I think she is). In battle and life she is fierce. And she always tries to finish what she starts. She's failed before and doesn't want it to happen again and so on Yuna's pilgramage she finally gets the achievement of a surving summoner. Even though she doesn't play Blitzball, she does watch. Her team is the Besaid Aurochs who finally win a tournament with Tidus's help.

⚜ Symbolism: Venus

goddess of love

The Venus Crest and Sigil are what power the Onion Knight in the North American version. So I wanted to go on about the symbology associated with Venus.

Metal

"Metal is yin in character, its motion is inwards and its energy is contracting. It is associated with the Autumn, the west, old age, the planet Venus, the color white, dry weather, and the White Tiger." Lulu is associated with a yin and a yang character, which symbolizes balance. Because one needs both yin and yang. White is generally a pure color and contrasts to black. While the black covers everything the white can shine the light. Lulu does this, she wears all black but shines light on what is unknown. Metal seems to be the opposite of Fire here. Metal is inwards and contracting while Fire is outwards and expansive. Both can suit Lulu, she keeps things to herself and yet she explains to much.

April

"April is commonly associated with the season of spring in parts of the Northern hemisphere and autumn in parts of the Southern hemisphere, where it is the seasonal equivalent to October in the Northern hemisphere and vice versa." Strangely enough April is a lot like March. So I would really only be repeating myself here.

Friday

Love and Beauty is what Friday is all about. I've already gone on and on about how beautiful Lulu is (and I'm quite bias in that I'm pretty sure). As for love, she is loving in her own grumpy way. She loved Chappu a lot. Possibly had a crush on Tidus because he is similar somehow to Chappu. She ultimately marries Wakka. While she states "You don't always need love in marriage, just determination" I think she truly loves Wakka even though I don't know how or why or where. She seems the type to marry for love. And love doesn't always mean romantic! She loves Yuna a lot too. Enough to conisder her a younger sister. I don't know the exact relationship with Lady Ginnem but I think she loved her too. You wouldn't go on a journey like that for someone you don't like. And you definitely aren't upset when said person dies on the journey. Lulu is just filled with love.
